July 2025 “Horoscopes”

The term “horoscope” comes from the Ancient Greek word hōroskópos, which has a literal meaning of hour/time (hṓra) + observer (skópos). Horoscopes today are generally reduced to extremely generalized fortune-telling—“Libras, this is not a good day to go outside!”—but the original definition of “horoscope” is much closer to the real practice of a dedicated astrologer. We observe time, as it is told through the celestial clock, measured primarily in the cycles and patterns of the planets in our sky.

As we enter July 2025, I am sharing “horoscopes” that intend to communicate something about the ways our experience of the Zodiac may come alive in the month ahead. You can read it any way you like, whether you choose to view it through the lens of your personal Sun, Moon, Ascendant, Venus, Pluto, North Node, whatever. In truth, we are complex astrological beings, and our true nature encompasses the full zodiacal experience. Take from it what you will as you form your own “observations of time”.

While the messages below are informed by many planetary goings-on, notable are the Cancer and Leo lunar cycles and their activations of Jupiter and Pluto, respectively; Uranus’ entrance into Gemini; the retrograde station of Saturn and Neptune in early Aries; Mercury Retrograde in Leo; Mars’ approaching transit of the South Node in Virgo; and Vesta and Juno direct in Scorpio.

HŌROSKÓPOS — JULY 2025

Aries
Profound changes are have begun taking shape in the foundation of your reality. This is a time to slow down and integrate all that has emerged. While time never truly ceases carrying us into the newness of each moment, the time ahead will hopefully feel less rapid and more recentering. Recollect, breathe, and find a more assured footing as you step into the moment that comes next.

Taurus
You are allowed to fully release any remaining expectations from within or without on who or where you are supposed to be. Your authentic knowing of yourself, solidified over these past years, has taken root so that your dreams can unburden themselves and fly with renewed lightness. At this time, allow yourself to tend to inner needs as you ease into greater comfort with the new space that has opened up in your life.

Gemini
Here arrives a new kind of freedom—a freedom to be curious about this new spaciousness and the ideas and experiences that can take shape within it. New synapses will begin firing, reuniting you with dormant neurons ready for new life and accelerating your exploration of unknown regions of the mind. The world itself seems like a pretty strange place right now, so why not invite in the kind of strangeness that lights up your soul?

Cancer
Time to catch up with yourself with the light of understanding now in hand. Ask yourself those big questions about the nature of who you are once more. The old answers you have long since shelved away have gotten dusty. Dust them off and reread them anew, or sit at the fire of your inner knowing and listen to its tales. There is profound meaning to glean from the journey, where you come from, and what has shaped you.

Leo
Layers of your past selves continue to fall like leaves. The hoops of daily life will arrive one after the other, and you’ll jump through them. While outer circumstances will seem like more than enough for your limited attention to take on, your inner turnings are no less prominent. No matter how full life gets, tending to your deeper heart is essential—in fact you’ll be incapable of doing otherwise. It’s the only way to arrive in this new moment.

Virgo
You’re acutely aware of how many moving parts there are right now, and this is one of those moments in which you don’t actually know if you can stay on top of them. It’s okay, you really don’t need to. Allow yourself to move through and/or release any feelings of urgency you’re carrying. Somehow, it will work out. Do what you need to, and then let go. Give your attention to what truly needs it, and then let go. Play your part, and then let go.

Libra
There are great stirrings in the world around you, new shifts in the balance of things, both unsettling and reigniting. You have the opportunity to play the role of the witness, the adviser, or even the changemaker. There are many paths open to you in this time of restructuring flux. Ask yourself what is personally meaningful and actionable, listen, and follow the call.

Scorpio
Don’t forget—you have the ability to thrive in times of uncertainty. While the world spins out, you can rely on your inherent knowing of what is most real, significant, and meaningful. So let this be a time of recentering. Make the pilgrimage to your inner temple, light the candles, and breathe in silence. The chaos of the external reality will fade as you reconnect to your truth, to your power. Return to the world with eyes unclouded.

Sagittarius
It is okay to be a little lost. You are skilled at conjuring meaning from the puzzle of scattered moments; the further back you look, the more complete the picture is. So don’t fret over puzzle pieces that don’t seem to fit for this moment. Many “aha!” moments lie ahead of you, but only at specific, ungraspable moments. Set aside your seeking, and live. Truth will come.

Capricorn
It is a lot to live on this planet, a fact you know well. The trials and tribulations from one era to the next, whether looking at human history or your own life, are endless and endlessly changing. You’re aware of what those are in the present day, however, your spirit has been so immensely fortified in recent years that your foundation can’t be shaken. As you are called upon, trust your strength, and remember your limits.

Aquarius
The planet’s metaphoric shifting of tectonic plates continues to alter the surrounding landscape. You are easing into an acceptance of the world not reshaping itself into the exact vision you had for it. Nonetheless, this is the world in which you will step into a more complete version of yourself—a self of which you have, in fact, had genuine glimpses. Continue your commitment to your own blossoming; a time for its acceleration is at hand.

Pisces
One of your inherent gifts is the capacity to tap into a state of calm when submerged in the ocean of reality, the waves of life crashing above you. Most of the world is too invested in its endless activity that there is a severe lack in the education of knowing peace, of surrender, of swimming in the waters of spirit. Is it possible to teach this—embody this, share this—amidst all the possible excuses to ignore it and save peace for another day?
