The Astrology of Spring 2026: Where We Are Now
Dae Wood, Evolutionary Astrologer
Where are we now?
We are in the post-Saturn-Neptune energetic landscape. Their conjunction ushered the dissolution of old agreements and structures. We witnessed dependable foundations fall away, entrenched systems be dismantled, and individual pathways reform—and, clocking in at 0 degrees Aries—begin again.

“Evening Falls II” (1964), René Magritte
The planetary dance, world events, and individual journeys all serve as a mirror to one another. Addressing what has changed on the world stage, Canadian PM Mark Carney named the moment “the end of a pleasant fiction” that the “rules-based order” (set in place by the Saturn-Neptune conjunction of 1989) guaranteed international stability and wellbeing. Facing the new global reality, Carney emphasized the need to “build a new order that encompasses our values”, affirming that “the power of legitimacy, integrity and rules will remain strong, if we choose to wield them together”.
Spring 2026 has so far been defined by a blitz of Aries activity, with activator Mars playing a major role. For my clients, the energy of Mars transiting Saturn-Neptune, squaring Jupiter, and now approaching Chiron-Eris has felt harsh, initiating, uncertain, or all of the above. The question is not just “where are we now?” but “where do we go from here?”
Other planetary movements hold some clues. The Taurus New Moon on May 16th should help stabilize the current landscape. Mars will add to this grounding focus on May 19th, while also bringing the transformative hum of Pluto in Aquarius back to the forefront. As the Moon, Mercury, and the Sun pass by Uranus at 1º Gemini by the end of this month, new connections and communications will open the door to other possibilities.
The first time Uranus ingressed into Gemini last summer, I wrote an article for the New Renaissance newsletter. I’ve decided to share this again here, so for some of my thoughts on Uranus in Gemini, read below!

♅ Uranus in Gemini ♊

While Saturn transits can be highly constructive, Saturn in aspect with other major planets often ushers in periods of great seriousness globally. 2020 is now a textbook example. Seriousness is again the backdrop with Saturn’s 2025-26 conjunction with Neptune.
Neptune is by nature a collective planet. Neptune is unifying. This unification can be felt in ways both transcendent and mundane, arriving through pop culture as much as through spiritual experiences of oneness. It’s difficult not to feel what is collectively being felt in one sense or another. In 1989, Saturn-Uranus-Neptune brought a wave of uprisings that paved the way for the dissolution of the Soviet Union and an end to the Cold War—a wave of shared feeling, serious and revolutionary in nature, that washed over the people of numerous Soviet states within a brief period of time.
Valid concerns of an oppressive regime in the U.S. are widespread presently, notably with the ongoing, wide-reaching attacks on public institutions and immigrants. Immigration—the ways we permit the boundaries between nationalities of people to be a little more porous. As Aries now puts the situation perilously into motion, will we attempt to further restrict and obstruct this international inflow of people, or will we affirm that the sociopolitical and spiritual ideal of receiving people from around the world is an attainable ideal?
Aries—the will to act. Saturn-Neptune in Aries—taking action to make manifest what we know to be true in our bones. Recalling the last time Neptune transited Aries, it had at that point become time at last for people to make a stand to end slavery in the United States. The tidal shift occurred when enough people were connected to a spiritual knowing that on some level, there is no difference between us. We are all people, all a part of humanity.
Blessings,
Dae
